It is with extreme sadness that we inform you of the passing of Fiona on 11 November.

A production engineer by trade, Fiona founded bioenergy developer Utilitas Group in 2010 to bring together the most capable and motivated people on the planet to unleash the power of biogas to decarbonise industry, support energy networks and energise communities.

Fiona’s passion for regional communities, farming and food production was fuelled, doing piggery, poultry, dairy and goat “squad” as a boarder at Hurlstone Agricultural High School in Sydney in the early 1980s.

The Business Sustainability Roadmap that she developed as part of her role in the Queensland Environment Department between 2000 and 2003 was recognised as a sustainable development milestone for Queensland.

Fiona was a Non-Executive Director of Local Government Owned Regional Water Utility, Unitywater, and holds manufacturing, environmental and business management degrees from UTS, QUT and Macquarie University.

The thoughts of the Packhorse team are with Fiona’s family at this difficult time.
