Greg Campbell

Non Executive Director

Greg grew up on a north Queensland cattle property, which today runs 15,000 Brangus cattle and has been held by his family for 114 years.  After graduating in science from James Cook University, Greg spent nine years with the Western Australian Department of Agriculture investigating pest animals in agriculture, mostly in the broader pastoral industry.  Then followed four years in a range condition survey and extension role with the Northern Territory Department of Primary Industries, based in Alice Springs.

In 1993 Greg began his 24 years of engagement with the historic, family-owned S. Kidman Co Ltd.  After nine years as Landcare Manager, Greg was promoted to Chief Executive Officer, to then spend 15 years as CEO/MD, retiring in late 2017 following the sale of the 200,000 head cattle business to Gina Rinehart’s Australian Outback Beef syndicate.

During his employment and since, Greg has been actively engaged in many conservation and sustainability initiatives within the pastoral industry.  These have included terms on the National Farmers’ Federation Sustainable Development Committee, and in 2020, retiring from the Red Meat Advisory Council’s Australian Beef Sustainability Steering Group.   Greg remains a long-term member of the Australian Rangeland Society.
