The Australian agriculture industry is in Geoff’s blood. He grew up on properties in north-west Queensland and Tasmania and has maintained a rich connection to the land his entire career.
His professional journey began at the iconic Stanbroke Pastoral Company where he spent 20 years progressing from a Jackeroo to Manager of large scale corporate assets. In 2004 when AMP sold Stanbroke, Geoff joined the renowned S. Kidman & Co who had purchased the large breeding enterprise Helen Springs, which he managed.
Geoff is passionate in optimising the balance between the environment and the animal’s performance, particularly the energising of the soil using animals.
Armed with a strong desire to influence the industry, he joined Macquarie as General Manager Northern Australia Operations at one of their Pastoral Companies, where he spent almost a decade leading a highly respected team in a business that consistently delivered strong returns for investors. As a true leader, he understands that consistent financial and environmental performance is a function of building the right team.
Geoff is involved in industry benchmarking groups and emission reduction funds. In addition, he has chaired regional research advisory committees for NABRC and a regional land care committee. Geoff’s energetic approach has delivered enviable returns, rejuvenated carbon cycles and set a host of enterprises up for a successful future.
